This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on rails.ae. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember things between page loads (for example, that you are signed in), and let third-party services deliver content embedded on the page (for example, a Stripe payment form or a Google Map).
2. Cookies we use
We use only the cookies needed to make the website work. We do not use cookies for advertising, behavioural profiling, or cross-site tracking.
2.1 Essential cookies
- Authentication session (set by Supabase) — keeps you signed in to your account across page loads. Cleared when you sign out.
- Session cookie — short-lived cookie used to remember pending booking selections across the steps of the booking flow.
2.2 Payment cookies
- Stripe — set on the Stripe-hosted checkout when you pay a booking fee or birthday deposit. Used by Stripe for fraud prevention. See Stripe's Cookie Policy for details.
2.3 Embedded-content cookies
- Google Maps — set by the embedded Google Maps iframe on our Visit page. See Google's Cookie Policy for details.
2.4 No tracking, no advertising
We do not run third-party analytics that profile you (e.g. no Google Analytics tracking pixel, no Facebook Pixel, no Hotjar). We do not sell, share, or auction your browsing data.
3. Local storage
We use a small amount of browser local storage to remember whether you have already dismissed the cookie banner. This is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to us.
4. Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you clear cookies for a specific site, or block them site-by-site. If you block our essential cookies, you may not be able to sign in or complete a booking.
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
5. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy if we add or remove a service that uses cookies. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects any change.
